Houston Texan Deshaun Watson Donates First NFL Check To NRG Stadium Cafeteria Workers

Imagine you’ve been dreaming about making it to the NFL, training, training, training, you finally get in the league and that much anticipated first payday comes. What do you do? Go on a shopping spree in Beverly Hills, buy a car? None of those if you’re Deshaun Watson, the rookie quarterback of the Houston Texans.

According to a report in the GoodNewsNetwork, Watson gave his first season’s paycheck to three NRG Stadium cafeteria workers who lost all they had during Hurricane Harvey’s fury.

How much did they get? The published report estimated that with a salary of $465,000, they got a bit more than $29,000 to help put their lives together.
