Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: Taraji P. Henson to Star in What Women Want

We will be seeing a lot of Taraji P. Henson on the big screen in the next couple years. It’s as if she is living her life by the “can’t stop, won’t stop” motto so famously proclaimed by Puff Daddy. (P.Diddy? Brother Love? You know who we’re talking about…) In 2018 she is already starring in Proud Mary (January 12), Acrimony (March 30), and will do some voice acting in Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (November 21). Oh, but she is not stopping there. The newly formed Paramount Players division has announced a remake of the comedy 2000 What Women Want, aptly titled What Men Want and have cast none other than Taraji as the lead.

According to Deadline Hollywood“The new version follows a female sports agent (Henson) who has been constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. When she gains the power to hear men’s thoughts, she is able to shift the paradigm to her advantage as she races to sign the NBA’s next superstar.”

The project is being fast-tracked and should hit theaters in January 2019. In the meantime, you can catch Taraji as Cookie Lyon in the current season of Fox’s Empire on Wednesday nights. It has been a long time coming and it is inspiring to see the Swahili named superstar get her shine on. I thought I told you that she won’t stop…
